The U.S. Department of Labor has released the March jobs report numbers today and it seems as though we can collectively breathe a sigh of relief. For now. After a slow February, experts were concerned that the economy was showing signs of a downturn but after this report’s release economists remain optimistic. Despite the fact that the economy is still expected to slow down, the substantial job growth at least temporarily quells concerns.
Several industries experienced job growth, most notably the healthcare sector with 49,000 jobs. Meanwhile, on the unemployment front, everything seems to be the same. Unemployment remained the same at 6.2 million. Learn more about the state of employment with our infographic below.
