The latest jobs report from the U.S. Department of Labor has been released, and despite the partial government shutdown spilling over into the new year, the current report shows a strong start to 2019.

With 304,000 jobs added across various industries, most notably Hospitality and Leisure with 74,000 positions, the economy seems to be doing well. This number dramatically surpasses initial estimates by economists. American employers are adding jobs and increasing wages in the hopes that this will boost spending and bolster the economy further. And while we have yet to fully grasp the impact of the partial government shutdown, we continue to see economic improvements across the board.
