The job market hasn’t looked this promising in 20 years. That’s what the latest jobs report released today by the US Department of Labor is saying. After a stagnant March, the April jobs report is boasting an unemployment rate below 4% for the first time since 2000. Overall, the latest jobs report reflects a strong economy with last month edging us closer to nine years of consistent job gains. With an unemployment rate not seen in almost 20 years coupled with the addition of 164,000 jobs in the workforce, the economy continues its strong showing for 2018. While the significant job growth has been great for the US as a whole, for those in the recruitment industry this means finding top talent remains a challenge.
